Formed in 1992, Maine Public is an independently owned and operated nonprofit organization. Maine Public has administrative offices and production facilities for television, radio and web services in Lewiston, Bangor, Augusta and Portland. The station's transmitters and translators, located throughout the state, deliver programs to nearly all of Maine's citizens.
